This house is integrated in a lush garden, full of fruit trees and tropical flowers, and consists of four modules. The first structure is entirely colonial, with a fantastic view of the Quadrado. The kitchen and social areas benefit from a mix of national and international art works and surprising design objects developed in Trancoso. In a brick bungalow nestled under the trees is the first suite of hosts. A second independent bungalow, all built in “pau-a-pique” technique, houses the second suite and a magnificent bed, creation of the newly launched line UXUA Casa. The third suite is a tree house built with woods recovered from an old Bahian farmhouse, suspended over an outdoor living room with its own kitchen, bar and grill. The entire structure overlooks the seemingly endless pool that stretches into the rainforest at the back of the garden. Occasional monkeys and exotic birds complete the perfect tropical landscape. The furniture and lighting throughout the property is a blend of antiques and custom pieces from the UXUA Casa collection, created from recycled materials such as fishing boats, sails, antique agricultural equipment, Pataxó indigenous crafts, handmade ceramics, restored textiles, textiles and leather, in addition to local organic materials such as river reeds, vines, and palm fiber.
